Yoga Certification Board, established by Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, is the only Board which has been set up by any Government for certification in the field of Yoga. Yoga Certification Board in its objectives to bring synergy, quality and uniformity in knowledge and skills of Yoga professionals across the world. The YCB certifies Yoga professionals under various levels and category so that the Yoga Professionals can select the level and category as per their skills and competences. The competences range from Yoga Protocol Instructor to Yoga Master under the category of Yoga Education and Training.

About the Scheme
  • The Scheme for Voluntary Certification of Yoga Professionals is mentored by Yoga Certification Board (YCB) and owned by Ministry of AYUSH (Govt. of India).
  • This scheme has a set of requirements as criteria against which candidates shall be evaluated in order to being certified as Yoga Professionals.

1. Yoga Volunteer (YV)

Anandabodh Institute of Yoga Studio conducting online & offline Training classes for “Yoga Certification Course” in both Malayalam & English Languages. After completion of training, certificate of “Yoga Volunteer” will be awarded by PQMS, YCB, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

The Yoga Certification Board (YCB), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India has initiated the “Yoga Volunteer Training Program” at the national and international level. This offers an opportunity to the participants to obtain a “Yoga Volunteer” certificate from the Yoga certification Board, the country’s highest body for certification in the field of yoga. The Yoga Volunteer Certificate is valid in India as well as all over the world.

Duration of Training: Equivalent to not less than 36 hours.

Eligibility: There are no eligibility criteria for this certification. It is open for all candidates.

Age: No age limit

Certification of Yoga Volunteer: After completion of 36 Hrs. training, Certificate of “Yoga Volunteer” by PQMS, YCB, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India will be awarded. The candidate who has 80% attendance in the class shall be eligible for certification.

Level – 1 Yoga Protocol Instructor (YPI)
Brief Role Description:

Certified Yoga Professionals (Yoga Protocol Instructor, Level 1) can teach basics of Yoga / common Yoga protocol developed by the Ministry of AYUSH for International Day of Yoga for prevention of diseases and promotion of health. They can conduct Yoga practice / classes in parks, societies, RWA etc.

Personal Attributes:

The job requires individual to have good communication skills, time management skills and ability to understand the body language of the trainees. The job requires individual to possess key qualities such as self-discipline, confidence, maturity, patience, compassion, active listening, time management, empathy, language proficiency.

  • For open candidates there is no eligibility criteria
  • For admission in the course it is suggested/ desired that the candidate should have passed 10th standard / secondary school certificate from a recognized board or equivalent. However, the Yoga Institutions can define their own eligibility

Brief Role Description:

Certified Yoga Professionals (Yoga Wellness Instructor, Level 2) to teach Yoga for prevention of illness and promotion of wellness in schools, Yoga studios, work places, Yoga wellness centers/ Primary Health care centers etc.

Brief Role Description

Certified Yoga Professionals (Assistant Yoga Therapist) can work under supervision of Certified Physician or Certified Yoga Therapist & Yoga Consultant on specific disorders

Requirement / Eligibility

There is no eligibility criteria for this certification. It is open for all candidates. To appear in this certification, it is suggested/desired that the candidate should have passed 10th standard / secondary school certificate from a recognized board or equivalent.

Syllabus for Yoga Therapist(YTH)

Assessment Guidelines

Assessment and skill test of Yoga professionals shall be based on the syllabus approved by YCB for various certifications. Assessment of Yoga Professionals under all the types of certification except Yoga Volunteer will be in two stages – Theory and Practical. Assessment of Yoga professionals appearing for certification under Yoga Volunteer will be based on Training only.

PQMS PrCB shall conduct examination for the candidates as and when deemed fit by PQMS PrCB, at location decided by PQMS PrCB.

Anandabodh Institute of Yoga Studio shall furnish information/documents related to registration of candidates for Yoga certification in various levels and responsible for awareness of Yoga Certification Scheme.
